Beyond IPSGA

IPSGA – what is it?

IPSGA is the industry recognised acronym for Information – Position – Speed – Gear – Acceleration. It is the system of motorcycle control used for planning and is a system you may be familiar with having taken advanced lessons, watched videos on YouTube, read books or taken an advanced test. However, knowing the acronym, applying it and understanding the context are very different things. Get Cornering teaches the context of IPSGA.

IPSGA in Context

Get Cornering goes beyond learning about IPSGA and uniquely expands the concepts of IPSGA to enable proper understanding and application of this system of planning. It enhances the rider’s skills, knowledge and safety in general day to day riding situations.

The Reality

Motorcycle roadcraft techniques are an art that take time to learn. Riders can learn control of a machine in an off-road environment, and to a very high standard if they choose. Riders can also begin to understand vision on a track. The road is however a very different environment.

Get Cornering will be developing your skills in radio contact with your coach. The course is structured to provide a serious uplifting of skills, knowledge and the right kind of confidence, enabling you to have a thorough understanding of your cornering techniques and what to do to develop them further.

Get Cornering Comes With a Certificate

Having completed your Get Cornering course you will receive a certificate identifying your successful participation and recognising your enhanced skills. Your motorcycle roadcraft skills will have developed and there will be a metaphorical tool kit that you can take away with you to practice.

Get Cornering aims to develop proper understanding of when, where, how and why the bend is going the way it is and, more importantly, what you need to do about it and how to do it. It’s not just about knowing what something means, it’s about being able to actually do it. There is a big difference and it only comes through knowledge, application and practise.
